After years of spyshots and speculations on the name, Proton has officially announced that its newest sedan model is called the Proton S70 at a line-off ceremony at P1’s plant in Tanjung Malim.
The Proton S70 (Previously S50[1]) is a compact C-segment sedan[2] produced by Malaysian automobile manufacturer, Proton Holdings.
The S70 is developed as the result of a joint venture from Geely. The vehicle is based on the fourth generation Geely Emgrand.[3] The first generation Proton S70 will be unveiled sometime in November of 2023.[4]
The '-70' suffix is correlated to the vehicle being a C-segment model, similar to the Proton X70.[5]
